Understanding the NDIS
The NDIS is a revolutionary, Australia-wide scheme designed to empower individuals with disabilities by providing them with the support and services they need to achieve their goals. It represents a commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, regardless of their challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions
Applying for the NDIS involves several steps, starting with checking your eligibility on the NDIS website. You’ll need to complete an Access Request Form and provide evidence of your disability, which may include reports from health professionals. Once submitted, the NDIA will review your application and inform you of their decision.
Eligibility for the NDIS is based on age (you must be under 65 when you apply), residency status (you must live in Australia and be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen who holds a Protected Special Category Visa), and your disability. Your disability should be likely to be permanent and significant, affecting your ability to participate in everyday activities.
NDIS funding is tailored to each individual’s needs. After being deemed eligible, you’ll work with an NDIS planner or early childhood partner to develop your NDIS plan. This plan outlines your goals and the supports funded by the NDIS to help you achieve them. Funding is allocated across three categories: Core Supports, Capacity Building Supports, and Capital Supports, each designed to cater to different aspects of your needs.
